What's next on the nonprofit front?
- We now have a FREE account at Chase bank!
- Marina and Stella volunteered to take a fieldtrip to city hall to obtain fictitious biz license and tax id number.
- For the immediate future, we talked about purchasing our agreed upon template for the ease of getting our stuff on the web in a timely fashion.
- The longer range goal would be to find a local web designer to manifest our more complex site vision.
- Thanks to Stella and Norma for the InGen article and photo spread.
- Maybe an upcoming ad in InGen for the Tedda show?
- Can't wait to see the video made at Space gallery's superhero show
- Other print publications to whom we can submit our news for free publicity?
WAM is in demand!
- Stella will follow up with her contact regarding a possible November show at a Mission coffee shop.
- Leif wants superheroes to hang at the opening of his comic book store in the mission... whenever that is.
- Minerva sez perhaps a March 2010 show at Boneflowers?
- Keep an eye out for potential venues for our languishing Pinned Up prints.
- Perhaps a collaboration with Bloom? "A celebration of music and art from a woman's prospective. 4th Thursdays @ Anu-SF, Hosted by Mahogany L. 43rd 6th Street @ Market"
- Subscribe to the WAM google calendar for a complete listing of deadlines. Check it out now:
- Images of work due to Stella for showing to Tedda by next meeting, 8/18/09.
- JPGs for Costco print order due to Flannery by 8/20/09. (Remember, these need to be high-res (150 dpi minimum at print size) to look zee best. Apparently Costco now has poster-size enlargements available on-site, so we should be able to go bigger... like to fill those 16 x 20 frames. Costco sizes: 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, 8x12, 11x14, 12x18 ($3), 8x8, 12x12, 16x20 ($9), 20x30($13?)
- The list of contributing artists and media/subjects thus far...
- marina :: photography
- stella :: photography
- juniper :: ceramic bird people
- sarah :: ceramic taxidermy
- amelia :: oil paintings
- minerva :: illustration
- flannery :: sculptural photo book
- What about a small, sellable item for show? We looked at featuring an image from the show on a compact mirror. myfavoritemirror.com offers 25 mirrors for $48 + shipping
- It'd sure be swell to have one place for all our stuff. Someday, maybe that will be the website. Until then, we have this blog... why not use it and have our exciting dialogue open for all the world to see?
- Juniper sez, perhaps after hanging the Tedda Hughes' show, be good homework for all participating artists to record a blog entry.
- Yes, we can!
