We used Mod Podge as a seal finish over printed images on ceramic tiles, as coasters and serving plates. On the craft horizon we see homemade scented candles and stash boxes! Happy crafting!

WAMminutes 11.10.09
Crystal started with her story of an amazing time at a retreat recently and having the opportunity to not just meet, but spend some time with Barbara Hand Clow, the author of Catastrophobia: The Truth Behind Earth Changes, a book she highly recommends.
Recap of Dollhouse Monsters
Idea: self-portrait (of a queen) good job Crystal!
Examples: Frida Kahlo
Style: up to interpretation
This show would be a chance for self reflection for each individual artist. More for fun and self expression, than profit. Could be one large self-portrait of each of us- let's check out the wall space next time we meet to see if this works. As collaboration, we could use elements of our portraits and do screen printed bags, printed compacts (see previous notes,) etc.
WAM Meetings, Craft Days, and Fun!
Show and Tell:
Our next meeting is at Quetzal, November 24th at 7pm. Research and bring images of self-portraits, styles, or your own ideas of what you might want to do for the Boneflowers show.
She's Crafty:

Recap of Dollhouse Monsters
- a congratulations to everyone who sold at the show!
- $23 dollars in magnet sales given to Marina for the WAM piggy bank.
- let's post our pics of the show on our blog, if we have them
- art work: it was a good that everyone was able to express themselves individually for this show, but we should keep a collaborative element for future shows, as WAM
- what percentage of sales does the gallery request?
- what services does WAM receive for this percentage? i.e., hanging of the art, providing drinks, advertising
- tips: Approaching an Art Gallery: Contracts and Pricing
- should we come up with our own WAM contract?
- a dj at an art show is something we can think about incorporating in the future: Mike Perry (Norma's boyfriend) has offered to dj if there is room and basic equipment there.
- WAM Schedule: one show per season - winter is designated to crafts
- Honorary Members are defined as those we invite to show with us
- honorary membership dues will be set for now as $10 or 10% of any sales - their choice
- membership dues will be set for $5 or 5% of any sales- let's use this as a guideline for now.
- do a WAM show with Chillin Productions, run by Irene Hernandez-Feiks who hosts fashion and art shows at 111 Minna
- read a recent article about her in inGen magazine, pg 38
- Crystal to get more info on Chillin Productions
- Joslyn to be a part of this show (Marina for info)
